Metafields for Sizing to be used across multiple listings

I've been searching around for the best way to create a option set (or variant set) on a list of belt sizes from 28W - 55W. I'm hoping to just easily apply that meta(field/object?) set to the multiple belt listings, without having to manually create the 27 individual variants on each belt listing.

The metafields, metaobjects, definitions, entries, categories is pretty hard to follow. I've been watching tutorial videos, but nothing seems to work or make sense in what I'm trying to accomplish. 

Does anyone have a clear process, step by step, how one could create this variant set to easily apply to multiple listings? I appreciate your time and expertise.
