Hello,
I'm working with a client who wants to migrate their current Wordpress/WooCommerce website to Shopify, and I'm a little uncertain on a good plan for all this. Some details about their current e-commerce setup:
Does anyone have experience doing this type of migration, and have a good strategy for it? I'm guessing I should start with products, then customers, orders, subscriptions and then the blog posts + content last?
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks for that information! I think you may have meant to reply to my other post titled Setting up payment gateway for client in dev store?
Regardless, I was planning to use Shopify Payments, since that's built upon Stripe, I believe... but I think I'd need to set that up by connecting their current Stripe account as a "legacy" payment gateway. Does that sound right?
Check the third party solution Easy Shopify Stripe Checkout, that also supports subscriptions via Stripe.
There aren't many apps that allow you to migrate subscriptions - at least none that I know. I run a digital magazine subscription for a client of mine, recently moved to quarterly magazines as well, but it's a fully custom built solutions. I have been thinking in turning it into an app, but I think there is not enough demand for it.
I do run a WooCommerce migration app and I am happy to check (free of charge) what information we can get from the API and if we can create subscriptions with one of the apps you want to use. The app is called AppsByB: WooCommerce Importer. If you install it, just reach out to us by chat and we'll look into it with you
