Hi everyone,
I have a problem with a MP4 video I use as a product demo video that keeps getting pushed into the last position in the product images section of the product page.
I reached out to support and attempted all of their suggestions, but nothing ended up working.
I tried moving them on my mobile, different browsers on desktop, incognito mode ...etc. They always end up going back to the last position after 4 hours or so. The MP4 video will stay where I want it for a few hours and then poof! Back to the last position.
Anyone have any suggestions or insight on this issue of mine?
Hi @QUANTUMFZX ,
This is Theodore from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App.
Shopify product video MP4 files are sometimes transferred due to technical limitations or conflicts even after they have been manually moved by merchants. First, make sure the video meets the size, length, and encoding guidelines. Alternatively, you can convert the MP4 to an animated GIF, which sticks better. Third-party applications such as Right-Click Save Order or Image Reorderer can also lock the video layout. Embed externally hosted videos instead of directly downloading to avoid location issues. It's also a good idea to check for code and liquid marking that can get in the way - any incorrect labels can cause unwanted rearrangements. As a last resort, deleting the raw MP4 file and re-uploading it completely can restore any editing issues if the original file was corrupted. By using one or a combination of these workarounds, Shopify merchants can keep their important product demo videos pinned to the main image carousel.
I’ll be so happy if my suggestion can help to solve your problem. If you have any further questions, please feel free to tell me.
Best regards,
Theodore | PageFly

This depends on theme, but some implicitly always put videos at the end, sometimes based on a setting or even a tag or metafield check theme documentation.
Obligatory: In the products admin make sure the product media is moved to be the featured media.
Clear your browser caches before examining changed products pages.
The going back to last position after 4 hours can just be weirdness with the cache, where when you first changes things it may seem like it's working but really your browser cache or server cache is showing you bad data.
If by "product pages" you do mean you are editing media postions in the admin then that is a support issues, or you possibly have some automation controlling product media and or backup app resetting product data.
