Hi All,
My website's started experiencing a weird issue with URLs recently. In Google Search Console I see URLs with multiple slashes at the end. For ex.
Obviously, they create a potential danger of duplicate content. Tried all sorts of information but cannot find anything about it. Has anyone experienced the same? How to fight it? Any thoughts?
I've already added a correct canonical for such URLs so the example above will be pointing at https://www.mydomain.com/collections/henne-organics but I'm not sure it's enough. It would be great to get an understanding of why it's happening in the first instance. It may be just a tip of the iceberg that I don't see yet.
Any ideas are much appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi, @Annuksun.
Thanks for posting to the Shopify Community!
Multiple slashes in a URL on Google Search Console can be caused by several factors, typically related to how URLs are structured and generated. I recommend getting in touch with our support team through the Shopify Help Center to see how we can best assist you, or point you in the right direction to receive help.

My guess is this is a "recursive internal link issue" within theme code.
Might be an easy fix from support or the theme seller, so worth a try there as a first port of call.
But sometimes these issues can be difficult to pinpoint. There are a few tricks but better suited for a developer or tech SEO.
