Hi there, @Quico.
Thank you for reaching out and posting your question here in the Shopify Community.
On August 31st, we experienced an issue that was impacting the navigation from the cart to the checkout page on storefronts for some merchants.
This issue has since been resolved. Our technical team is still evaluating the root cause of the issue, and any next steps moving forward to mitigate this type of incident from recurring.
I recommend clearing your cookies and cache and completely rebooting the browser if you're still experiencing issues. If you continue to experience issues after going through the troubleshooting steps, please reach out to our support team via the Shopify Help Center.
We apologize for the disruption to your business and appreciate your patience at this time.
I hope this helps!

I have the same problem with my website! IF it was fixed months ago - why is it still an issue. The same is true if I want to place an order from any of my suppliers that use Shopify - I thought there was something wrong with my computer.
Yeah It can't be fixed as we are having the same issue and it only came to our attention today May 29th 2023!! Clearly cookies and cache does NOTHING to resolve the issue
A customer contacted a while back about problems at checkout but I thought it was a one off incident. However, I've noticed more abandoned carts and checkouts and I've had customers contact me saying they can't checkout, so I tested it for myself today using safari. I hate to think how many customers and sales we've lost over this!
Removing the tracking code from the checkout page (setting>checkout>Additional scripts) worked for me.
YES... we have also noticed customers being unable to checkout out using Safari browser and it seems to be getting worse JUNE 2023!!
Shopify, please take this bug seriously and look into this ASAP
This does not resolve the issue. Our customers cannot checkout if using safari and it's now MAY 2023!
what kind of "solution" is this?? how am I supposed know that a customer has abandoned their cart because of this issue????? Am I supposed to send these instructions to all people with abandoned carts?????? THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE "SOLUTION"
WHERE IS A REAL SOLUTION???
I am sure that many Shopify stores are not aware of this horrible problem that shopify has. I only know because I have safari and I tried to purchase from other shopify stores.
yeah, Shopify seems to expect customers to clear their cache and cookies before they make a purchase on a website! Ridiculous isn't it! And what's even more ridiculous is clearing caches and cookies doesn't even resolve the issue! It didn't for me anyway!
We have reports of the same issue (customers who cannot proceed to checkout when using Safari). This is June 2023 and the issue is NOT solved.
We've lost more sales this week because of this issue. Reported it to shopfy via chat when we first realised there was an issue some time back now, was promised a follow up by email but NOTHING!
Hello. I've started a new thread about this to see if we can get any help.. Would be great if you could visit the new thread to share your experience and show Shopify that this issue is not resolved! https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-discussions/problems-with-shopify-checkout-and-safari-users/...
Cheers.
Hello Victoria at Shopify. I hope you are well. Have you seen these recent comments from Shopify merchants telling you that the issue is not resolved?
Also have the same issue on Safari. I didn't realise it was an issue until I tried to order something from another company that happens to use Shopify and then a customer also flagged this error during checkout.
Shopify don't seem to care about it! Reported it to shopfy via chat when we first realised there was an issue some time back now, was promised a follow up by email but NOTHING!I I wonder how many shopify merchants are unaware of this issue.

it has become clear that shopify will not address this issue. has anyone explored alternatives to shopify, like bigcommerce, magento, etc.?
This issue is all about Safari blocking your store and this is on your Safari browser setting - "Private Browsing". Check your Safari "Privacy Report" and clear all the data. Also, clear your cache and close Safari. Open Safari and locate the tab "Private". Open your store and it should display on "Private Browsing" mode. The "Private" tab feature forgets all data when closed. This is same to ALL browsers. I hope this helps.
