Please help, when introducing my godaddy domain i'm getting an error "A Store With That Domain Name Already Exists".
Hi, @Petzo,
Thank you for reaching out! I am sorry you're experiencing some issues with your domain.
I will just need to gather a bit more information from you to help you solve this issue. When exactly is this error message showing, and where? Is it on Shopify or GoDaddy? Is it happening when you try to connect the third-party domain or transfer it? Once I have a bit more information I can dig deeper into this to help get your domain up and working.
Please let me know if you have any further questions! I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

Hi Emily,
I'm a newbie here. My first shopify store. It's a generic store.
Regarding the error, it's in shopify, when I try to connect the domain I bought in Godaddy, www.topincrivel.com
the error (sorry but my shopify is in Portuguese)
What else do you need?
Thanks in advance for your support.
Hi, @Petzo.
Thank you for getting back to me and welcome to Shopify! Thank you for sharing that information along with the screenshot, that is super helpful!
Have you tried going through our tutorial on connecting a third-party domain? This tutorial will run through all the steps of connecting a domain from GoDaddy to Shopify. If you are still receiving the error once you have gone through the tutorial reply back and I will look further into this for you.

Just tried it and also the manual DNS settings.
It is still returning the error that another store is conected already to this domain.
I think there must must some store already in your database that my domain is directed to... Can this be the problem @Emily ?
Hi, @Petzo.
Thank you for your reply back and for trying that tutorial.
There isn't a way for two stores to have the exact same domains as a domain is a unique identifier for the store it is connected to; once you have purchased a domain, it is yours for the duration you pay for it. Is your domain topincrivel.com ? Have you checked your domains to make sure it hasn't already been added to your store? Do you have another store on Shopify you may have added it to? Due to the domain being hosted by GoDaddy and not Shopify, I recommend reaching out to them if they can see what is connected to that domain, as we do not have access to that information.
Please let me know if you have any further questions! Once I have more information, I can dig deeper into this and try my best to determine what may be causing this error.

Hi Emily,
A similar issue was reported in this post and staff identified another store with the same name in database:
My configs DNS in GoDaddy are OK.
The store retrived by topincrivel.com is not mine.
This is my store:
This is the store that domain is pointing to:
Don't know what to do anymore.
I have only one store in shopify, so there was no mistake.
Hi, @Petzo.
Thank you so much for that information. We have some new security policies in place since that last conversation was had on that post you sent me so I will not be able to access store-specific information such as domain information. I recommend reaching out to our Support Team, who will be able to authenticate you and help solve this domain issue for you. I appreciate your patience with this and best of luck with your business.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!
