My Sales and bookings completely ended with website updates.

My store website and booking app was updated toward end of February/first week or so of March.

I hired a  technical assistant who updated a few images and text in my theme layout (Dawn) along with a total revamp of my booking flow and app.

My previous booking app, BTA, is a shopify native app but caused me endless trouble constantly.

I finally made the change over to Acuity, which is more robust, but not shopify native. Couldn't find a booking app that had the key features needed as acuity.

Acuity booking is embedded on my booking page, and seems entirely operational yet my sales have flatlined since this change.

I have only had one booking in 2-3 weeks, which is highly unusual even in the slowest of times.

I've given it a little while, but now I'm panicking.

Possibilities:

The images she updated with are computer generated by her, along with some of the updated text, along with my old images. I'm not sure if that's an issue but the site looks better than before generally, and the map feel like it's more intuitive now.

The look is a bit different on the booking page than before. A reasonably good comparison can be seen as you go step by step through the booking process and compare that flow to going to an example of adding a gift card to purchase.

Previous app booking looked almost just like the check out page as the gift card page.

Could this minor thing deter all new clients though?

Is there a way to have the site analyzed?

I've lost so much money I can't even hire a developer yet to examine.

Hi @Crystalditas

Because Acuity isn’t a Shopify-native app, it’s possible that the change in booking flow is causing friction for customers. Even small changes in UX (like a different checkout feel) can impact conversions, especially if customers were used to the old flow.

So, here are somethings to you can check:

  • Test the full booking process yourself on desktop & mobile to ensure no errors or confusing steps
  • Check analytics (Shopify, GA4, Hotjar if installed)—are people reaching the booking page but not completing? That would indicate a UX issue.
  • Review site speed & mobile experience, sometimes embedded apps slow things down, which can hurt conversions

Also, you can consider using a simple survey (via email or pop-up) asking customers if they had trouble booking
