My store loading speed is too slow and I don't know why

Hi guys!

I've started my store recently, but then I notice that it has slow loading speed. I also apply some page optimization tools but the result has not improved. My page speed is just 27/100.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can improve it?

Hi Jessie,

Welcome to Shopify Community.

Can you share with me the URL of your shop, so I can analyze and find your speed issues?

Hi @jessienotcheesy,

I would recommend you enter your URL in the Shopify Analyzer (a free tool our company built for the Shopify community). It'll display results for mobile/desktop versions of your site and will give you some actionable feedback about what could be further optimized.

The most common optimizations you can do involve:

  • true lazy loading
  • image optimization
  • minifying files
  • going through your apps to see if any can be uninstalled
  • removing any leftover app code from uninstalled apps

There are some other optimizations you can perform, but the ones mentioned above will likely have the largest impact.

I hope this helps!

A large volume of unoptimized images is usually the most common reason behind website slowness. High-resolution images can consume lots of bandwidth while loading. Uploading larger sized images and then scaling them down can unnecessarily increase the size of your web page – causing your website to load slowly.
