Hi @bossorange1

Thanks for reaching out here for help.

I understand that you are experiencing some issues with your domain - I would be happy to take a look and do my best to assist!

Can you confirm if this is a Shopify managed domain, or one that you manage via a third-party host and simply have it connected to your store? If you navigate to the Settings > Domains section of your admin, are you seeing any errors or warnings there next to the domain? Feel free to post some screenshots here so that I can take a closer look at the domain in your admin.

If the domain is third-party, then I would suggest logging into your domain host account and double checking that the DNS settings on the domain are correct. You can use this guide here to see the exact requirements for connecting a domain. If necessary, you may need to reach out to the domain providers support team for help with managing the DNS settings.

Once you can confirm the above, we can continue to troubleshoot what is happening with the domain, and the next steps you can take!

Thank you for confirming this info @bossorange1

I appreciate the screenshot of the domain DNS settings. It would appear that the A Record and CNAME DNS entries are indeed correct.

This is a third-party hosted domain, correct? If you believe all of the DNS settings are correct as per our instructions here, and cannot figure out why this is happening then it would be a good idea to first contact the domain provider directly, to see if there's any issues on their side. They should be able to check the domain status, and make sure it's functioning as expected from their side.

After that if the problem persists, I would suggest contacting our own support team via our help center here. We can take a closer look at your store setup and do our best to assist with this issue!

Hi @SJA11

Thank you for joining in here.

I understand you are seeing a similar issue with a 'Your connection is not private' error showing when you try to access your Shopify store.

Has this been working OK until recently, or is this your first time setting up a new domain and you are unable to get it working correctly?

Feel free to share some more context on your setup, and I would be happy to assist by helping you to troubleshoot this here. The more information you can share the better I will be equipped to help with advice and resources. In particular, some things that would help include:

  • Confirmation if the domain was purchased on Shopify, or via a third-party host.
  • If third-party, have you followed the instructions on this resource here to edit the DNS settings in accordance with the required specification outlined on that page?
  • How long has it been since you set up this domain? Be advised, DNS changes of any kind can take approximately 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.
  • If you navigate to the Settings > Domains section of your admin, are you seeing any errors or warnings there next to the domain?
  • If you feel comfortable doing so, feel free to share your domain URL with me here and I will take a look at the DNS setup to try and identify possible issues.

Working Ok until now (2 yrs ago)

Its a a third-party host, but everything is seting up correctly as per instructions.

Now that message appear too:

and

Your domain has no nameserver record(older message)

I understand @bossorange1

Thanks for getting back to let me know and for confirming you checked in on the domain with the third-party host, and that all looks OK from their side and reflects the correct Shopify DNS settings.

I would now recommend reaching out to our support team directly, so that we can take a closer look at your store setup, and see if there's any issues that may be arising from our side of things.

You can reach our team here via our help center, and once we authenticate you on the store we can explain the next steps involved. Here via the Shopify Community we can certainly provide general advice and resources, but contacting our team directly using the link above allows us to check in on your account, which may be necessary in this situation.

Hi @SJA11

Thanks for getting back with this extra information.

Please note that here on the Shopify Community, we don't have access to your account information, so our ability to provide specific support is based only on the information you provide in your replies here. In my last reply I had requested a number of pieces of information about your domain which will allow me to better troubleshoot this problem - would it be possible to review those questions, and then reply back here with the info?

  • Confirmation if the domains were purchased on Shopify, or via a third-party host.
  • If third-party, have you followed the instructions on this resource here to edit the DNS settings in accordance with the required specification outlined on that page? In particular, the A Record and CNAME must match the Shopify specification - ensure there are no overlapping records or duplicates.
  • How long has it been since you set up these domains? Be advised, DNS changes of any kind can take approximately 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.
  • If you navigate to the Settings > Domains section of your admin, are you seeing any errors or warnings there next to the domains?

If this is a time-sensitive issue and is affecting your ability to make sales on any of your stores, then I would recommend reaching out to our support team directly. One of our support advisors would be happy to take a closer look at your situation and assist you further. When you click the provided link, you'll see a chat assistant window in the bottom right. Interact there and type something like 'live chat' to access the option to reach our team.
