Hello, @SoumyadipC!
Ted here from Shopify, thanks for reaching out to us.
Are you following a guide to enter this code and if so, could you share the guide with me so I can make sure you are entering this into the correct area for Google Analytics? As well, could you share your store's URL with me?
Feel free to reach out to our Support team any time as well. We're here 24/7 via Facebook, Twitter, chats, emails and phone. Just click 'talk to support’ for some more info.
Thanks a mill,
Ted

Hi, @SoumyadipC!
Thanks for getting back to me and letting me know.
You are no longer able to see the <script> </script> field as shown in your second screenshot as this feature was removed from Shopify in January 2019. Instead, the Additional Google Analytics JavaScript field will now appear for all Shopify accounts.
While this area was always intended for tracking scripts only, in the past, this field was used to insert customizations into the checkout. Due to security concerns, this field was modified so that by default, scripts added to this field can’t be used to change the look or function of Shopify’s checkout.
At the moment, there are some apps and third-party guides which prompt a merchant to insert code for non-analytics purposes/as part of their setup process. In order to ensure that Shopify's App Partners provide a working experience to all users; app developers/partners whose apps make use of this field have been instructed to prepare and update their apps and documentation, as checkout customizations that rely on this field will no longer work for all merchants going forward. If you are using a third-party guide such as conversionpirate.com, I'd recommend contacting them directly here to see if they can provide another alternative.
I understand where you're coming from with this and at the moment there is no way to edit the checkout as of yet, however, the Additional Google Analytics JavaScript field will continue to work for reporting scripts.
We want to ensure a safe and stable checkout experience for all users and we sincerely thank you for your patience. If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know, I'm happy to help!
Thanks a mill,
Ted

Hi @Ted - are non-Plus stores able to turn this on by contacting their Shopify rep? A Shopify guru told me over email that this feature was able to be turned on if requested by the domain admin.
Can you confirm or deny this?
Hello @dev_bc,
That's a great question! For Plus stores, we would normally recommend using the customized checkout process instead, as the additional scripts method has never been officially supported by Shopify. If there's a certain situation requiring further attention at the checkout, we would suggest contacting the Plus store's Merchant Sucess Manager (MSM) directly to take a look.
Thanks a mill,
