I need to take my site offline - have not finished editing there was some password protecting it, but somehow I have managed to go live, I need to take my site back down please help

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.
It sounds like your password protection was disabled. Rest assured, you can enable it once again by following a few steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Preferences.
Scroll to the Password protection area, and check Restrict access to visitors with the password.
In Password, enter the password that you'll give to the customers who you want to be able to access your online store.
Click Save.
