Yesterday, while doing a site audit we noticed what appears to be a variation of the Web Pixels Manager bug described in this thread here:
https://community.shopify.com/c/technical-q-a/shopify-bug-web-pixels-manager-sandbox/td-p/1906981
Instead of “web-pixels-manager” in the urls, it’s now “wpm”.
These pages are getting indexed since there isn’t a no-index command. Like before, the pages appear to be blank with no content.
Checking in to see who else out there is seeing this. Hopefully Shopify can respond quickly with an no index solution.
Screenshot attached of a well-known Shopify Store. The same is happening to our site.
Yes, absolutely seeing the same thing. It might have been a stretch to suggest that they 'fixed' the issue you linked to when this seems an exact replica. Let's hope it's addressed quickly.
these just started getting indexed in the last couple of days on my site. Exported all of the links that were showing up and created redirects to the homepage however that didn't do squat. they are already blocked on my robots.txt however the error is showing up in console that they are being indexed regardless of them being blocked. Anyone got a solution?
its march 19, expereincing the same issue with shopify
shopify is not responding / dismissing my issue on their chat support as well
really affecting my DR score of my website that i have built up over the months
@Italia-Straps if youdo find any solution - do let me knwo , ill update if i see any changes my side too
But how does this affect DR. you mean it dilutes your existing pages right? DR should be same?
no cant be. it cant affect AHREFS rating. AHREFS is just a backlink checker. its DR rating depends on backlinks profiel only.
They are now showing up as 404s on my end here. seems like the pages were wpm and then changed over again to web pixels manager based on console. Regardless my solution was to export them and redirect them to the homepage.
Edit: just double checked and wpm pages are still there but as blank, The web pixels pages are however showing up as 404 on my end.
Hello,
I have just been speaking with Abby from Shopify Support via chat and she has been very helpful in getting an answer to this issue.
The issue has basically resulted in many of our urls that have always been indexed to become not indexed by Google!
Abby
I really appreciate your patience while we worked through this as well. Our escalated team found a thread that was opened (internally) with our technical team last week with this same issue regarding the web pixels manager being indexed through Google. It will just take me a moment to grab the response here
Abby
This was the response that was provided by our Technical team who worked with our developers on getting this response out to another merchant:
"According to our technical team, our developers have pushed through a fix approximately 2 weeks ago and have advised us that it can take several weeks for these long URL's to stop being indexed as they are. Even when Google recrawls it can take some time for them to remove to index and the URL's that it crawls. We have confirmed with our developers that this issue should be resolved but time will need to pass before Google does it's thing with how we've setup these pages to not be indexed as they are. We don't have a specific timeframe as this relies heavily on when Google crawls and then uses that information for indexing. From the information we have that can take weeks even between processes of crawling and indexing."
As you suspected, it was a Shopify issue that our developers have implemented a fix for but could take weeks to process
Abby
I understand that it is not the ideal resolution you were looking for but at this time we do need to wait. They did recommend that you can request that Google recrawl your pages to see if this will expedite the information on your store since a fix has been implemented on our end. Additionally, since we have a separate team for our community forums on this, I'll make a note and request that these threads be updated with this information.

I hope this is some help.
Best Wishes
Victoria
Hello everyone.
Thank you for your patience while we worked towards providing a fix to this issue and building out an FAQ that addresses the primary concerns and questions from the primary thread about the Webpixels issue. You can find our FAQ on the Community Blog.
We welcome you to continue the conversation in the blog section of the blog post with any valid questions that aren't already answered by the FAQ. We will monitor the comments section for any valid feedback on how this change may impact Shopify stores and will actively remove or edit any comments that spread misinformation or speculation on the issue.
We'll be locking this thread for new replies, but will keep it viewable for historical purposes.
