On my store, I still see the old favicon on my Iphone, which I haven't used for 3 months. Fortunately, customers only see the correct, new icon.
I don't have the problem with other CMS systems, I think my Iphone still pulls or caches the old file somewhere in Shopify (old favicon is no longer under files). Does anyone here have the same problem that after a favicon update, the favicon in Safari does not change?
Hi there,
Have you tried clearing the cache for your Safari browser?
It's possible that Safari is still referencing the old favicon due to cached file names. To resolve this, you could try renaming your new favicon to something unique (e.g., favicon-v2.ico) and re-uploading it. This may help force the browser to recognise the updated file, provided you're comfortable making this change.
Hope this helps!
