Palo Alto Theme - Adding cart item count in header

Hello! 

I have the Palo Alto theme that I am trying to update to show the item count in the Bag icon in header. as you can see the shopping bag icon has an animated dot instead of the item count. 

 

I have not been able to figure it out...so any help is greatly appreciated.

Probably a bug in the code. Try checking out header.liquid file and search for something with cart bubble or cart icon bubble so anything with cart and bubble.
