just learning Shopify on a trial basis and trying to set up customization on one of my product listings so that the buyer who orders this item can enter their personalization and then add the item to their cart. i'm using the Dawn theme, and i've created a custom template called "custom," added the custom liquid option section block, and it's working fine on the actual product page when i test it. however, when the user goes to the Cart, the personalization does not appear in the line item. i've read a few posts about Ajax befuddling the cart layout, and to change the cart to "page" setting, tried that, no change. can anyone shed any light on this? my URL for the specific product in question is https://bluehencraft.com/products/copy-of-personalized-custom-ceramic-pottery-pet-food-dishes-bowls-.... thanks in advance for your help!

yes I did, that is what I used initially to start, and it helped me to place the personalization in the product template. However, there is no assistance that I could find to ensure that the personalization appears in the actual shopping cart so that I as a shop owner would know what the buyer wants to personalize with.

YES! THAT WORKED! oh man, i spent so much time trying to figure out why those other videos wouldn't get my "personalization" to show up in the shopping cart! this one did it! it must have been the code. i did have to fall back on one of the other videos to make this code work for *just* specific products (which entailed setting up a "custom" product page template and applying the personalization to only that template, and then assigning my customizable products to *that* product template), but it all works like a charm now. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to reply to me on this. i really was giving up on it, and just asking customers to note their personalization in the "order notes" at the end, which isn't ideal when people order multiple products with unique personalization on each one. Thanks again!!!
This is a wonderful resource, thank you for posting! I have been searching high and low for a solution to get the personalization text field to show up in orders - this WORKED! And I've bookmarked this site for future reference. https://ed.codes
Hi. I have the same problem now. I installed an app for customisation of items. I tried editing the code but at the bottom of the line the code is appearing on the cart. So I decided
to install an app.
my theme is a different theme though.
