Product Quick View using built in Magnific popup - Minimal Theme

Hi,

I have some experience in coding and wanted to try to build a simple product quick view popup using the built in Magnific popup JS library for the Shopify Minimal Theme. This to prevent the unnecessary use of additional code and JS libraries loaded by Apps.

If i'm able to get it working, will post code for others to use.

Can someone familiar with the technicalities suggest how to go about it?
