We're part of a business that has both a brick-and-mortar retail division, which uses a retail point of sales system called Posworx, and an ecommerce store, which uses Shopify.
When we receipt inventory, the "push" action in the process comes from the retail point of sale software. That is, we upload stock to Shopify via the retail point of sale system.
We've encountered a situation where, when we upload a new colour to an existing product (i.e. when we upload a new variant title to an existing product title/variant SKU), Shopify automatically deselects the "Online Store" sales channel from the Publishing box in the product page.
The retail point of sales service provider says that this is a Shopify issue, since the retail point of sale software merely pushes product to Shopify and doesn't alter any settings in Shopify, with regards to the product.
Has anyone encountered this before, and if yes, is the root cause understood and a solution available?

Did you check the csv/excel imported for columns related to status check?
I have done automations on client store to pull the inventory data synchronize automatically on the Shopify store. Please let me know If you are looking to achieve similar automation for your store as well.
Hi,
Appreciate the feedback but in our case, we don't use csv/excel files to upload product: Our Shopify is integrated with the third party retail point of same system. So, we upload stock onto Shopify from the retail point of sale system.
