Rederblocking resource being triggered despite being removed from site

I am using the Impulse theme. I have been seeing that the resource for country flags from the assets file is triggering as render blocking. Knowing this was posing as an issue I disabled and removed currency selector and flag option from my footer, I left the currency selector in my header but disabled the flags option prior to publishing my theme update. This was not a copied version, it was a new version of the theme. The issue persists. Why would this be triggering as a render blocking resource when the country flags are not and have not been implemented on this theme?

Contact the theme creators, maybe they might update the theme code so as to disable the css for that feature when the feature is disabled. not including redundant assets should be a standard for any theme, but not every theme developer follows that princaple, and many themes can end up with much redundant code asset, it's up to merchants to let the theme developers know it's important for them to keep themes as effecient as possible, if merchants don't let developers know, developers will keep up with bad practices becuase there won't be an financial incentive for them to follow good practices.
