Regularly importing products using CRON and URL linking to XML

Hi, 

is it possible to use CRON to set up regular importing of products from supplier who gave me only a link to XML on his server? 

Or can you suggest the best shopify app to use?

Hi @mosaicx you would need to build your own middleware app to interact with the api to do things on a schedule.

As for apps the catch of course is just being able to fetch the XML is not enough the data still would need to have the properties properly mapped to the schemas shopify expects before an app can push it to the shopify api.

Look at the ez-exporter app and reach out to their support. I'm not fully sure but that app ?might? be able to fetch xml via a link and parse it?

Though more likely you would want a google-apps script that fetches and parse the xml into a google-sheet that ez-exporter then reads to import into shopify. 

The usemechanic app should be able to be scripted to do this  as it can parse XML,  depending on how the access to fetch the suppliers XML is setup.

There are also servies like zapier, integromat, airtable etc that may be suited for this.

With airtable there's the airpower app which may facilitate this as well.
