Hi:
I'm trying to create a dropdown element on a product page that would allow our customer to specify that they want our product delivered to their child's school (we rent musical instruments), rather than shipped to their home.
They need to pick the state they are in, then the city, and then I want to display the schools in that city that we support. Ideally, I would like to store the final choice (the school, with a related school code) in a metafield in the customer record.
If this were a nested menu, it would be easy. But I want it to be something that lives on the product page, or pops up when the user checks a box that says, "Ship to my child's school."
I've designed a few Shopify stores, and I'm a fan of good apps, but I cannot find anything that covers this type of requirement. I'm OK with code if someone can point me in the right direction.
Many thanks.
Hi @MichaelSellers ,
Not able to understand why you want to add all information in metafields. Ideally, it should be part of every order.
Do you want to save it for one time and use it for the future orders?
In that case, you should enable a popup on the load that let him choose the option, should not increase the product page with this option as by using that user can change it in every order.
