Schedule future publishing and display collection still

Hi,

My store does weekly collection drops and the owner has asked me to implement a feature such that they can upload a collection in advance and it'll display on the homepage but not be available to click, then automatically publish at a set date. I'm aware of the future publishing feature but also know this hides the collection. Is there a way to make it so the collection is not hidden, only unavailable to click on?
