Search Bar Issue

Hello,

I'm from Sheartak tools and we need help with our search bar. Firstly, some of our products have a barcode attached to them. If a customer searches up the barcode it will appear as no results found and then when the search is entered it shows a page with many products not related to the barcode. We want to change the website's code so the search returns nothing when a product's barcode is searched. As in, we do not want a product's barcode to be considered by our search algorithm and it be displayed to the customer. How would we do this in our backend code?

We looked into some solutions online with this forum:

But it didn't work for us.

Just to clarify, you mentioned here, that:

We want to change the website's code so the search returns nothing when a product's barcode is searched. As in, we do not want a product's barcode to be considered by our search algorithm and it be displayed to the customer.

Does that mean you want to change the website's code so that after the search is being entered, products "related" to the barcode are not shown? And also change your website's code so that when a customer tries to search using barcodes, it displays as an error and doesn't continue to search?

I'd like to know because I might be able to come up a solution for you to try

Thanks for replying. Yes, we do not want anything to be shown when the customer enters the search with a product's barcode. When the customer tries to search for a product based on a barcode, we do not want anything to pop up and only display an error.
