We are using the Shopify cookies banner in our shopify store (accessed from Settings > Customer Privacy). Can anyone please confirm what happens when the customer clicks to manage their preferences and turn the various options on and off - does this actually stop and allow the site from using/setting the relevant cookies? There are no settings in the tool to delegate which category a cookie should be part of - so I am not sure what this functionality is actually doing when the customer turns on and off the various cookies categories. Does the tool work with 3rd party apps that a Shopify store is using and the cookies they use, or is it JUST for the core Shopify system cookies which can be controlled via this tool?
Hi,
When a Customer clicks to manage their preferences and turns on or off various options
- Tool will attempt to set or remove the relevant cookies based on the customer's choices
- Effectiveness of this depends on the specific cookies involved
Hi - I don't understand how this tool can work without any back end specification of what the cookies that the website uses is possible? There is no options in the tooling to say Cookie1 is analytical, Cookie2 is required functionality etc etc. Is there a way to understand which cookies are being toggled by the different selections of categories when a user is browsing?
Does anyone have any info on how this tool actually works and the cookies it handles?
