This is Amelia from PageFly - Landing Page Builder App

When your Shopify store is in “Pause and Build” mode, the storefront remains visible to visitors, but the checkout functionality is disabled. This means that customers can still browse your site, but they won’t be able to make purchases.

If you want to ensure that visitors are directed to a password page instead, you can enable the password protection feature. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Enable Password Protection:

    • Go to your Shopify admin.
    • Navigate to Online Store > Preferences.
    • Scroll down to the Password protection section.
    • Check the box Enable password.
    • Enter a password that visitors will need to access your store.
    • Save your changes.
  2. Verify Password Page:

    • After enabling password protection, visit your store in an incognito window or a different browser to ensure that the password page is displayed.
  3. Customizing the Password Page:

    • You can customize the appearance of your password page by going to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
    • Select Password page from the page selector at the top.
    • Customize the content and design as needed.

By enabling password protection, you can ensure that your store is not accessible to the public while you are in “Pause and Build” mode.

Hope that my solution works for you.
