Hi there,
I am wanting to change a setting/add some code that allows multiple quantities of the same items added to cart, but as individual products.
The reason is that if for example a customer orders 2 ice creams, one has one topping and one has a different topping.
We use the 'Aco - Product Options' app to add multiple variants with different pricing options for the add ons. The only drawback currently is Shopify POS natively adds multiple quantities of the same product as one in the cart - but I'm wanting these to be separate line items so that when using the Aco app, each ice cream can have its own options etc.
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks, Darryl
That’s a fantastic idea, and we’d love to learn more about it! Would you be open to a quick call to discuss further?
We’re a Shopify Developer team currently researching similar use cases, particularly for Restaurants and Cafés. Your example with ice creams really resonated with us and aligns closely with how we’re approaching development.
I also believe your idea has the potential to apply to many other use cases, and I’d be excited to explore this with you!
Hey Darryl,
Totally get what you mean! Shopify POS does group same items together, which isn’t ideal when each has different options.
You might want to try ConnectPOS — it lets you add the same product multiple times as separate line items, perfect for custom toppings and such. It works with Shopify and has a free trial on the App Store, so worth checking out!
