Shopify Rest API - How to build sales performance report

I am trying to build a sales performance report using Rest API, I tried to access the report that is created form Admin UI but it not available for Rest API.  I need to build the code to generate custom sales performance report, does anyone created such reports? little help on this is appreciated.  Thanks.
