Shopify's Unused Javascript is SLOWING My Store Down

After an update that removed all of the corrections I have paid for- Shopify's unused JS is slowing my store down exponentially. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening without having to continue paying to do the same thing over and over again? We went from an 89 in performance to under 50....

Anyone?
