Shopify SSL Certificate Renewal

Hi there,

How does one renew their SSL certificate? My registrar (Namecheap) says my certificate is expiring but as I've now learned, I need to renew through the host (Shopify). How do I do that? Thanks.

According to shopify's help documents, you don't need to do anything. It will add a new SSL certificate when you add your custom domain. May take up to 48 hrs it says.

I am having the same problem. Two of the computers in my office are giving me "Your Connection is not private" warnings when I attempt to login onto my Shopify site.  This has been the case for more than a week now, and I am concerned that some customers may also be seeing this same warning when they access our website.  What should I do?

I'm getting the same thing through browsing to my site www.tiafi.com ? Can anybody help?

Tagging onto this also.

My store suddenly stopped displaying via the URL link in Instagram and/or via IOS devices, citing security issues over the certificate (yet nothing has been changed at our end).

If someone from Shopify could clarify if something was altered in the last month or so, that would be VERY useful to many folks on here

Think I’ve solved it as messaged Shopify.
It’s likely to be people clicking through on devices like IPhone where they’ve not updated their software.

Update and then clear cache.

Hope that helps

Thanks for your reply Dylan.

So whilst that makes sense in theory, if a customer has a) accessed the site previously and b) not updated their software, this will be an issue effectively forever?

Seems a little painstaking to now ask customers to not only clear cache but keep iPhones updated! (even though the latter is obvious, to me at least 🙂 )
