Hi all
Need some assistance please. I received an email from Shopify legal about a copyright breach on my theme which is unusual. 24 hours later they have taken my store down. I had the theme custom made. My priority at the moment is getting the shop back up, I am literally in the middle of a Mothers Day Sale Campaign!
I went in to select the free themes, i selected one, but it wont work! the error i am receiving is:
This page is not compatible with the editor due to one of the following issues:
I am not a coder, i have no idea how to get this up and running, and the shopify help centre is just not helpful, i dont understand all the codes it is asking me to check?
Please help!!
Thank you!
Custom made by who? Likely if this has happened they've pirated another theme and made some changes without paying for a licence on the store.
Usually the copyright complaint should mention which theme & theme developer has made the claim, after which you can purchase a copy of that theme from the theme store, then ask Shopify support to unlock it.
Thank you. They did mention the theme, and sent a link to purchase, but I opted to change the theme. But it is not allowing the change it continues to say I have a URL error. Shopify chat staff member said I just have to wait for Shopify to reply to my email. Its annoying, im opting out of the theme and selecting another and it wont work. I know I am being impatient, but honestly. Just let me change the theme!
The theme editor is trying to render your store but because it's locked it'll be giving you that error as it's trying to redirect to the 'store is closed page'.
Should be fine once support unlocks it. It's probably frustrating but you should be directing that at the person who did the theme for you, not Shopify who also has to protect theme developers.
Hello, @MALAStore.
I can understand this is important to you, so let's see if we can resolve this together and get you access to your store again. The first step here is to ensure the issue is not a local device or browser problem preventing you from accessing your store. To rule this out, can you please try each one of the following steps:
If the problem still persists, then it would be best at that point to reach out to our live support team. Our live support can be reached via our support portal here. You need to select the topics that apply to you, and then choose live support via either phone or chat once the option appears to you, you will then be connected to a live support agent who will have access to your account, and can help you out from there.
You mentioned you are currently in the middle of a Mother's Day campaign - what a great idea! I wanted to share with you this post, as it has some excellent ideas for your upcoming Mother's Day sale. I trust this helps, thank you!
