Hi there. I bought my domain last night and have been getting this error setting it up with Shopify.

I configured the DNS manually and I don't think my domain has Cloudflare. I found others getting the Cloudflare error and they said ignore it.

Hi there, @smef! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums with your domain situation here! My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!

Thanks for providing that screenshot and context around this domain issue! To set some expectations for you, we're unable to authenticate users here in the Community Forums, so I'm unable to access your account information, along with additional backend information related to your domain to assist me with troubleshooting. With that being said, I do have access to a tool that I ran the domain from your screenshot through (smef.us) and it looks like there may be an issue with the domain that our Authenticated Support Team can assist with. What I recommend you do is use this link to access our Help Center. From there, let our AI Assistant know about this domain issue, and let it know you'd like to speak with an advisor. From there, it will get you connected with a member of our Authenticated Support Team who can dive into some backend details related to your store and domain, and investigate more thoroughly than we can here in the Community.

Thanks for your reply.

Are you able to share a screenshot of this banner/message you're seeing?

Oftentimes, you'll need to fill out your Full Name (First and Last) under General > Details section. You can locate this section by going to your Shopify admin, clicking your profile in the upper-right corner and selecting Manage account.

Hey @CoolJay

Thank you for the screenshot showing the error message you are seeing. Have you made any changes to your domain's DNS settings? This could be related to a cloudflare proxy setup in your DNS records. You can learn more about this in our Help Center: Troubleshooting Domain Issues.

Hi @vivid008

You will see this error when your domain has an unsupported proxy, you can read more about this here. Please contact the GoDaddy support so they can help you with setting up your DNS records correctly.

We experienced the same issue.

The support team provided us with the following response:

Your DNS settings are correctly configured, which is great news. The issues you're encountering typically occur during domain propagation. Rest assured, the errors in the admin panel should resolve themselves once the propagation is complete. I have verified that your domain is properly set up in our system, so there are no concerns there. Generally, it takes up to 48 hours for propagation to fully complete, after which the red alerts in the admin settings will clear automatically. I will continue to monitor this for you to ensure everything is functioning smoothly.

Within an hour, everything was functioning properly.
