Sudden overnight loss of traffic (95%) - advise welcomed!

Good evening everyone,

I'd like to ask for some advice on an issue that occurred on our store at the start of September. It seemed that overnight we lost 95% of our daily traffic and this has continued more or less until now.

We haven't made any changes to the site directly but we did install two email marketing apps. The first was AVA Email Marketing which we uninstalled after an hour after not finding it too our taste, and the second was MailChamp - which we left running up until a few days ago.
Both apps were very highly rated on the App Store, so I would be surprised if they were the cause of the issue but merely a coincidence that the loss of traffic occurred at the same time.

Our social channels have been performing as expected, so we don't think it's coming from that end. We also don't and never have run ads, so we can rule that one out too.

Again, possibly another coincidence but we have suddenly received a very sudden influx of phishing emails regarding 'improving our websites SEO and traffic'. This again is probably just unusual timing but could something have happened to our store that has encouraged these contacts?

Overall, our traffic has been very consistent for the past 18 months and steadily rising month on month. The very sudden drop in traffic has also naturally resulted in a drop in sales (again around 80-90%) compared to an average of the past 12 months.
