We have a merchant who owns two Shopify stores. They want to issue Gift cards to their customers and make the same gift card available at both stores.
For example, if a customer purchases a gift card from Store A, for $100, the same gift card code should be valid at store B. If the customer makes a purchase from store B using the above mentioned gift card purchased from store A, the gift card value should be deducted at both stores and vice versa.
We have been asked to implement a solution for this. We think that this could be achieved through some kind of a synchronization using shopify API though a custom app. Is there a recommended way to do this? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Hey @janithcreativeq
pls refer to this https://help.rise.ai/en/articles/4859046-multi-store-solution-for-gift-cards
It's a public app.
Hope this helps
Thank you very much for the quick response. However we want to develop our own solution for this. What we're looking for is an approach to implement this.
You can create a custom app using shopify admin API to call the giftcard update API
But it seems require plus plan.
This is how to create a custom app.
Yes, there is a way to do this. I have written up the exact steps for a customer before but the cost to implement was higher then they wanted to pay. I could build this for you if it is something you would be interested in. Feel free to message me if you think so. I would love to help.
