I have edited the title tag and meta description in the preferences tab, and have asked google to recrawl- the meta description has updated but the title tag hasn't updated, I wonder if this is an issue with the coding? Can anyone advise?
Hi @josephalexander ,
Search engines commonly take some time to update the title tag after the site is recrawled.
-Please ensure you have used only one title tag on the site.
-check the page source to ensure the title tag is given correctly.
-Clear the caching.
-Also wait for Google to recrawl the site.
I hope this helps! If it does, please like it and mark it as a solution!
If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out!

Sweans
Hi Sweans, I've checked the source and this is how the page title is showing '<title>Armcandy Bag Co | Preloved Designer Bags – ARMCANDY BAG CO</title><link rel="canonical"@'
However I can't see this within the code on the shopify site.
Many thanks
Hi @josephalexander ,
If the <title> tag is not there in the Shopify theme code, it may be because it dynamically generates it based on settings or templates.
Go to your Shopify admin, then click on Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit code. Check product.liquid, index.liquid, or collection.liquid, where the title tag may be dynamically created.
You can see a code similar to the below one:
<title>{{ page_title }} | {{ shop.name }}</title>
Please check your theme for any option to update the title manually.
Also, the title tag contains HTML elements like – so it is not given correctly.
I look forward to assisting you further. Please feel free to DM me so that I can check the issue in detail.
Regards,
Sweans
Hi,
It seems that this is a high-frequency problem.
In fact, you don't need to worry too much. Google will regularly check the updates of the website, and it will eventually update to the latest content you set.
If your website is a new website + you want Google to update the new updates quickly, then you can submit sitemap.xml in Google search console, which will update faster.
