Tracking Affiliate Referral Orders with Shopify's orders/create Webhook

Hello Shopify community! I'm currently developing an app for a client and using the orders/create webhook to capture all customer orders. My goal is to specifically track orders that come through an affiliate's referral link. I attempted to mark these orders by updating cart attributes with /cart/update.js, hoping this info would appear in the orders/create webhook data, but it seems like this isn't working. Does anyone have suggestions on how to link orders to specific referral links, or any alternative methods that could help achieve this? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
