Transfering & Connecting Domains from Square Space.

I recently just bought a domain on squarespace and have been trying to transfer and connect it to my shopify store but I am getting all sorts of errors. I have unlocked it, changed the DNS settings and more. I'm not sure if I should just try and buy another domain through another third party or what. All I need is for my shopify domain and link to read "iconik-clothing.com" and not the generic domain.
