Typing in .xml at the end of a variant url now leads to a 404 error

All of a sudden, typing in ".xml" at the end of a variants admin url directs me to a 404 error page.

What? Why?

I've been reliably going to the .xml information of the product variants I have to grab the Variant Id #, The Product Id #, and Inventory Id #.

I need those numbers to properly link up our product variants to our inventory management software (Fishbowl).

Does anyone know why typing in .xml at the end of a url no longer works?

HAH! Found how to get around it!

Quick update... Shopify DID indeed do something that no longer allows us to access the .xml info from our browsers.

That pisses me off. Makes my job more difficult and frustrating.

Anyways.. to get that the variant Id, the product Id, and the Inventory Id. You NOW type in ".json" at the end of the product variant url.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!!!!! I have been troubleshooting ALL MORNING how to find the Inventory ID now that xml is no longer accessible, and I never would have found this workaround on my own. You just saved me A LOT more time and frustration trying to figure this out! Thank you, seriously.
