Hello
I am setting up a new Shopify theme and in doing so want to set up FAQ sections on each product and collection page.
We manufacture a range of products across a number of collections that all share the same inherent raw materials of eco-friendly timber. So many products and collections will share a few of the same FAQs and answers around the type of timber, how to protect it, mould prevention etc, including our delivery, and installation answers too.
Ideally we want to setup 1 location for these answers so that if they need amending we can simply change them in one location affecting all product/collection templates.
So... I am seeking the easiest way to set some standard answers that can be used universally across templates.
Metaobjects/fields is seeming like the right solution? But we have been using Shopify for 3 years and have never utilised metaobjects, I am afraid due to not entirely being able to follow along with how to set them up correctly. I always feel like I don't fully understand it so I give up.
Can someone please help me understand how to setup this solution? If I need to use metaobjects how to set it up and I assume then connecting dynamic sources to the theme templates.
Thanks in advance.
Hi @kmac ,
You are right the best option for this feature is metaobject but using as dynamic object will not work as that will pick the data from product page.
this means you have to put same data in every product.
You have to code this so that it always pic data from single metaobject.
For sample of using metaobject code, please refer the link
Thanks so much for responding and providing examples. Unfortunately, the image linked is quite small and I can't make out the code or where this is placed. =
Please find the large version of the image
But if you don't understand code my suggestion would be to hire someone for this, let me know if we can help you in this.
