Use of Shopify Admin API Key and API secret Key

What is the use of API key and API secret key generated in Shopify admin dashboard for authentication mechanism?

Also please share the documentation if above key's are mentioned in anywhere in the documentation.

An answer to this would be appreciated by me as well. For using the Admin API, only the admin access token seems to be needed.
