Using Paypal REST API

Is it possible to use Paypal REST API https://developer.paypal.com/api/orders/v2/#orders_patch from our instance of Shopify? we need to be able to send the Order ID to Paypal for payment reconciliation with our SAP system. We are using Paypal Express Checkout
