Utilizing Authorize.net for Automatic Recurring Billing

Hello all! 

My client is wanting to set up recurring billing within Shopify. Our first go-to was to utilize an app like Recharge however this is not a viable option as Shopify will not support re-occurring payments for a CBD company (my client). It seems Authorize.net has an API for setting up Automatic Recurring Billing https://developer.authorize.net/api/reference/index.html#recurring-billing. 

Does anyone have experience implementing something like this?

Is it even possible to set it up? 

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
