I am on the Basic plan and have always had access until when I checked today. I am getting the following on the screen when I click on the Analytics section, reports, or Live View.
Can anyone tell me what is going on or has anyone else experienced this?

Hello @pnut78 !
So sorry to hear you're dealing with this issue. It appears this isn’t something on your end—Shopify has recently restricted many Analytics features on the Basic plan, even for stores that had access before. Other merchants are reporting the same, and Shopify support confirmed the change: "this functionality now requires an upgraded plan" community.shopify.com+3community.shopify.com+3community.shopify.com+3.
Shopify removed certain Analytics access from Basic-tier stores, including Overview, Live View, and some reports. Many users who normally used these features are now seeing: “This feature isn’t currently available for your store.”
This appears tied to Shopify’s shift to a new Analytics framework, which introduced new restrictions and limitations—some features are no longer included on Basic plans .
Confirm your plan tier
Go to Settings → Plan in your Shopify admin and verify you're on the Basic plan.
If you were recently switched or downgraded, Shopify might have re-evaluated access based on account activity.
Contact Shopify Support
Reach out through your admin dashboard (Help → Contact Support).
Ask if your Analytics rights have changed and if they can re-enable access—or if you need to upgrade.
Consider upgrading
If Analytics access is crucial, switching to the Shopify or Advanced plan may be necessary to restore full reporting.
Use third-party analytics as a workaround
Consider free/low-cost tools such as Google Analytics, Fathom, or Hotjar—these can provide session tracking, live views, and basic report functionality.
Clear browser cache or try a different browser/incognito mode—sometimes new UI bugs cause features to disappear
Check store visibility—if your store is in password-protected mode, some Analytics features may be paused .
Shopify has put an access gate on its native reporting tools for Basic plan users. Even if yours were previously available, that access may now be revoked unless the plan is upgraded. You can reach out to Support to confirm, or explore alternate analytics platforms depending on your needs.

It must have been a glitch. I am able to view all the analytics I had before.
Sounds good! Glad it worked out for you 🙂
