Where are my Emails after connecting a Godaddy domain

I connected my Godaddy domain name to my Shopify store last week. I just realized that I haven’t gotten a single email since. I currently have an email account that connects with GoDaddy/ Microsoft Outlook. I did a test email & did not get it in Outlook. How do I get my emails? Where did they go?

Hey @Nsartfl,

Welcome to the Shopify Community!

It seems like your email issue might be related to the MX (Mail Exchanger) records of your domain. When you connected your GoDaddy domain to Shopify, the DNS (Domain Name System) settings were likely changed. If the MX records were not properly set, this would affect your email delivery.

Follow the steps below to check and correct your MX records on GoDaddy:

  1. Log into your GoDaddy account.

    • Go to the GoDaddy website and sign into your account.
  2. Access the DNS Management page.

    • Click on your username in the top right corner, then select "Manage Domains" from the drop-down menu.
    • Find the domain you're having issues with, then click on "DNS" or "DNS Management".
  3. Check your MX records.

    • Scroll down to the section titled "Records".
    • Look for any entries in this section with "MX" in the "Type" column. These are your MX records.
  4. Correct your MX records.

    • If you're using Microsoft Outlook with GoDaddy, your MX record should point to GoDaddy's mail server. The details should look something like what's listed here.

  5. Save your changes.

    • Click on the "Save" button to apply your changes.

Please note that changes to DNS settings can take up to 48 hours to propagate (for the change to take effect) throughout the internet, although it usually happens much faster.

If you're still having issues after following these steps, I would recommend getting in touch with GoDaddy's support team for further assistance.
