Why can't I activate my new online store?

Hello,

Re ticket 32794991.

 

Today started a trial, selected a plan and entered credit card details etc. Started setting up new store. For some reason Shopify created a second store with a number in the url and activated that one. I had to deactivate it.

Selected the store wanted and confirmed email etc. Logged in successfully at first, then keep getting a message that store 'currently unavailable' and go to contact support. Did this several times, going in circles, so frustrating.

 

Please activate the store as everything was confirmed before. If not activated today, please restart the trial. Appreciate prompt support with this thanks.

I appreciate that the turnaround time may not be ideal however sometimes it is less than that, but we just advise of this time in case the queues are busier than normal. 

 

We have no visibility of any tickets or account information on the community. In order to get to the bottom of this, you will need to wait for a reply to the ticket. Any extra relevant info should be replied via that ticket, as we cannot pass on information or provide a workaround for this issue here. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

I am sorry to hear that your store is no longer active. I can see that you have referenced a ticket number there, so you have taken the next best steps in creating a support request with our support teams. While we are not able to access tickets, accounts or stores via the forums at this time, I would recommend waiting for a response on your ticket number and keeping an eye on your emails for updates.  The average turnaround time for a response is 24-72 business hours, however sometimes it may be longer due to the queues. For further clarification on your store, it is best to reply directly to the existing ticket and wait for correspondence from our team.

Hi Maz,

Thanks for the reply. The thing is I only signed up today for a trial and started building the store. It's not a good experience to have only started a trial to find I cannot access the store and if you say I might have to wait 24- 72 hours or up to 3 days is really disconcerting. Also I confirmed the email and was able to log on to that store at first then it all changed. I can log into my account but just cannot activate my store anymore. I've never experienced this before with a platform trial. Let's hope this is escalated so I gain access. Otherwise would it be better to delete everything, close the account and start over again? By the way, I received an email saying they would be in touch in about 4 hours and that has long passed. I just tried to contact support once more but was not able to as it I go around in a circle and it says to contact community support.

Hi

 

Just to say, while this post was marked solved, it has not been solved. 3 days waiting now to start my trial as all i get when i try to activate my store is ' your store currently unavailable, back soon' message. 

I have read many similar posts and replies from staff and tried all of the suggestions: clear browser cache, tried different browser, logged incognito form two different browsers, restarted my computer ( desktop) and this list goes on. I've done all of these things several times over the last few days. So disappointed not to be able to start the trial which I signed up for on Monday this week and verified my email as well. I feel there is a real problem here at the Shopify side but the Shopify suggestions are not working. How long do I have to wait to activate my store and use my trial? Also although I log into the account itself, all I can view is General and Security, I cannot go to settings or billing, so something is seriously wrong.

 

Anyone?

 

What would happen if I started a whole new trial and set up the same business and the same store url? Is that even possible while a trial account is still open?

hi  why cant I activate my store ..........What customer Guidelines do i need to follow and products ....please advise Frustration is building ......

I understand that you are looking to find out why store activation is not successful and what customer guidelines need to be followed. I am more than happy to offer some guidance for you today.

In regard to activation, are you unable to successfully log into your account, and it is showing as unavailable? As mentioned on this thread previously, the best course of action here would be to reach out to our live support here at this link. They can troubleshoot this account for you, as we do not have any access from the public forums. 

For customer guidelines, you'll need to make sure that you are compliant with the laws of the jurisdiction of your business and your customers. This would include the Shopify Terms of Service as shown here, the Shopify Acceptable Use Policy mentioned here, and any other applicable policies.
