Why can't I log into my ecommerce account using Google?

I’ve been trying to login into my Shopify account but I can’t. It keeps redirecting me to the sign in via Google account. When I click my Google account, it refreshes the page and asks me to sign in to Google account. I had to make a new account so I could post this. Can anyone help?

I understand you're experiencing an issue while logging into your account. I'd love to help you out with this!

 

Whenever you get redirected to log in through Google and get stuck in a loop while logging into your store, it's usually caused by the following reasons: 

 

  • You have a different Google account connected to your Shopify store. This can happen if you recently changed emails, or if you are logged into a different google account.
  • You set up your account using Google login and have not set up a password for your Shopify account.

 

The quickest solution is to try to recall your original google account that's connected to the store and to log in using that account. If you can't remember which account that is, you can reset your password by following the steps on this page and then log in directly without the use of the Google account. If you still have trouble logging into your store after resetting your password, please try clearing your browser's cookies and cache and then try logging in directly with your email again.

 

Once you regain access to your admin, you'll need to disconnect the current Google account from your store to prevent login issues from happening again. You can do this by following the steps below.

 

  1. In your Shopify admin, click your name on the top right corner.
  2. Click Manage Account.
  3. Scroll to the Login service section.
  4. Click Disconnect.

 

Please note you'll have to log in directly using your email address, without the use of a Google account, moving forward. You should have no problems logging in again from here, but if you still encounter issues, let me know and I'll help you further!

I have cleared browser’s caches and cookies, but I still cannot login. I did make the account with a google account, so I did not make a password. When looking at the IOS Shopify app, it does not give me the option to reset my password. It only says, get started or Log in. When trying to login using my google account, it still boot-loops, and takes me back to signing in with google. What else is there to try, I’ve been getting charged while being unable to access my account at all.

Thanks for the update, @Llombera. Instead of clicking the option to log into your store through Google, could you please try logging in natively and typing in your Gmail address on the Shopify login page? That will give you the option to reset your password.

Hello again. I have tried that, but it still does not give me the option to reset a password. It continues to direct me logging in through google. It keeps on reloading to google every time I press my email or login natively. Would it not be easier on your end to completely remove my account and not charge me anymore; even reimburse me. This has been going on for months, and there has not been a solution.

Hello - I am running into the same thing. 

I created a new user and I cannot login.

I get the new user email, click on the link.

I get to the login screen and I enter my email. 

Then it always takes me to the GSuite login. I enter the email and password, it goes to Redirecting to Shopify, and brings me back to the Google login page. 

I tried cleaning all the cache, incognito mode, and all of the suggestions.
How can I fix this?
