Re: can't remove collaborator

Why can't I remove a collaborator using my Gmail password?

I can not remove anyone from the  collaborator section, it is asking me for a password. I tried to use the password under site protection and that was not it. I can log out and log back in but I use gmail for that. I do not put in a password. I tried using the gmail password but it failed. What password does it want?

Hi, @bliss-box. To clarify, are you trying to do this from within your Partner account or a merchant's account? If you are a Shopify Partner you can follow these steps to remove collaborator access to a store. You shouldn't need a password in this case. If you are a merchant you'll want to follow these steps and would need a password in this case. If you are a merchant I'd recommend you contact our support team here for more help. You can also adjust your log in method by clicking your account in the top right corner of the Shopify admin and continuing through those settings.

Hello,

I have the same problem.

Had some questions regarding my theme (Fame) and the guys asked for a collaboration cod, I gave them the code, and now I’m trying to remove them and the 4 digit code is not working, my shopify password is not working… basically I can’t remove the collaboration account.
Help🥹

PS ( did all the steps above and nothing)

yeah was a silly  gotcha, I could not remove the collaborator because the password was never set. So doing a forgot fixed it.

I absolutely have the same problem. I am the sole owner of a shopify store with a basic account. I had a collaborator who did some back-end work on my site, and when the project was completed and no further services were required, I tried to remove him, but shopify requires a password, and it wasn’t accepting my shopify account password. Shopify support said I had to reset my password, which I did, but the new password doesn’t work either… Why should I even HAVE to enter a password since I’m the only owner??? It’s silly and frustrating. Shopify won’t listen and fix that feature because it’s useless. It doesn’t work!
