Why did my Shopify admin landing page change suddenly?

For the last six months when I log in to my shopify admin it has been fine.
Yesterday it changed, lots of information missing.
I want my old one back!

Thanks for reaching out in our Community Forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to share some more information on this. 

In order to provide some context, we redesigned the admin as one of the 100+ features in our Summer '23 Editions. These changes primarily make data and content more clear and interactive. We also improved fonts, icons, and added higher information density. You can check out our YouTube video called A reimagined admin announced in Shopify's Summer ’23 Edition for more information. 

With that being said, we're always open to hearing how we can improve on these updates. I'd be more than happy to relay any specific feedback you have to our developers for consideration.

Yes, I also want the old admin page back. I do not want to look at a graph. Just give me the hard numbers. Old one was a better layout.

I understand that you have a few accessibility and display concerns, such as having a 'new customer alert' section on the homepage, an option to toggle between graphs and values, and the ability to adjust the font on the Shopify Admin. No is is not an ACCEPTED SOLUTION. Its not ANY SOLUTION!!!!!!

The solution is to roll back to the pre 2023 version and hire a new team that asks users what to improve. And have them test it before releasing it. THIA IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. DUH!!!!!!

I also appreciated having a 'new customer comment' alert on the landing page. That appears to be gone.

Hi,

The font has got smaller and is now all fuzzy. It really makes my eyes and head hurt!
Is there any way to make it larger and clearer please? It's awful to use.

Unfortunately, the main admin page has the opposite affect of making the data and content more clear and interactive. I used to be able to quickly look at sales numbers with a very convenient calendar that was on the right side. There was other things to look at on the right side. Now, it's all gone. I have to click into a report and select dates to look at a curvy line and then scroll down to see the actual numbers. 3 extra steps instead of having it right there on the admin page.

The design itself is awful, as well. The late 90s rounded rectangular buttons, the gray and black color scheme, everything's tiny and hard to read, arrow everywhere -- it's horrendous to look at and try to use.

Mac - Please take the tiome to look at all the complaints about the Admin Home page.  It is clear that a lot of us hate the fact that the Right Side Column of useful information was removed.  The smaller font is also not helpful.  Please have them bring the Ride Side Column information back.  Thank you.

Hi there Mac | Social Care @ Shopify.  My advice....... dont send the developers responsible for this our feed back. tell management to fire them immediately and hire a new team of high school graduates. You will get much better results. Its sad when your team doing NO DEVELOPMENT is far better than paying them to make things MUCH WORSE. Is everyone at SHOPIFY on a large river in Egypt?????

Also, I notice my 'next payout' tab fails to update.
Even if I click on it to see what my next payment will be (XX pounds) when I return to the home page the button still sits there with 00 pounds on it. This has to be just my problem doesn't it ?

Hi I thought I would chime in even though Shopify doesn't listen to ANYONE - especially there own store owner customers.

Yes - I want the current changes rolled back. I hate them and I hate more the new line graphs. I want the bar graphs back.

But for all you new ADMIN PAGE HATERS, and I know there are millions of you out there, probably 95% of all store owners ----- check this out for a good LAUGH!!!!!!
