Hello,
4 months ago my website had a speed of 60-65, now it has 28-30.
Anyone knows how it could be such a change?
I only have these apps installed, most of them i had also when it was 60-65 speed.
Hi, @frankmoi.
Thank you for reaching out and providing that information.
Several factors impact your online store speed, including apps, analytic libraries, theme code, images, videos, etc., some of which you can control.
The factors you can control would include apps. It may not matter what or how many apps you have, but what code has been added to your theme and features that you may not even be using. I recommend disabling app features you don't use or removing the app altogether if you don't use it. If you are removing an app, consider removing the code that was added when it was installed. This leads me to your theme. When you edit or customize themes, file sizes can increase and affect your store speed. Images are another significant factor that can affect store speed. I recommend reviewing the image optimization guide to ensure your images fall within their recommended size, which will greatly help.
Depending on your theme, you can also reach out to the theme developer. If you use a Shopify free theme, then Shopify Support might be able to assist you with basic performance improvements. If you use a third-party theme and need assistance, you must contact your theme developer or hire a Shopify Expert.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

Hello @frankmoi,
We have read your concern regarding slow website speed, and as you have mentioned, your store speed has dropped from 60-65 to 28-30, while you haven't installed any more apps apart from the ones mentioned in the screenshot. We would like to offer you some suggestions to boost your website speed.
Before that, let us first explain to you how Shopify measures store speed. Shopify store speed is a combination of speed scores on the Homepage, the most visited product page, and the collection page, and it is a comparison of speed scores to similar stores on Shopify.
You can see the screenshot attached for your reference.
Since you have not made any changes concerning the apps, the drop in speed may be due to either of the below-mentioned reasons.
For better help, you can share the store URL with us so that we can tell you the exact issues that are responsible for the website’s slow speed.
All the best,
Team CedCommerce.

Hello @frankmoi,
Gina here from flareAI.
There can be multiple factors behind the slowness of your website. By following the below steps, you can significantly speed up your Shopify store:
1. Removing unused app code is a best practice that avoids running code for unused features and makes your theme code easier to read.
2. Use a theme that is optimized for performance
3. Themes contain CSS, JS, and HTML which can increase and affect your store speed. So disable theme features you don't use.
4. Loading extra data your customers aren't using can impact your store speed without adding value.
5. If you are using slideshows, keep slideshows of featured images to 2-3 slides or use one featured image.
6. Use a System font which is a font that is already installed on most computers. For example Segoe UI, Times New Roman. If you use a font that does not yet exist on your customer's computer, then the font has to be downloaded before your text can be displayed. This impacts the time that your store takes to load.
7. Reduce the use of large-sized images and also compress images without losing the quality
8. Use minified CSS and JS files
9. Replace GIFs with static images
10. To reduce the initial load time, you can use Lazyload technique
11. Remove third-party JS scripts and Shopify App which you are no longer using
12. Minimize HTTP requests
13. Avoid unnecessary redirects and fix broken links
14. You can run the "Shopify Theme Inspector for Chrome" https://shopify.dev/themes/tools/theme-inspector?shpxid=667eb8e1-1FCD-4B2D-3290-0B4820F0A7AB to identify the lines of code that are slowing down pages in your online store.
If your website takes longer than 3 seconds to load, 40% of your traffic will be lost. Apart from speeding up your store, for getting better conversions, make sure your store products are Found on Google. When your customers search on Google, your product can be found only if your page is indexed. Note that once a URL gets indexed, customers will start finding your store through organic searches, you will start getting order conversions for virtually zero cost. Making it sustainable business growth. flareAI helps to get your new products found on Google. flareAI works every day for you.
