Why did the auto write feature for product descriptions disappear?

So I’ve been using the auto write feature for writing descriptions for the products, very handy as I’m someone who has a hard time writing those. And now it’s just randomly disappeared? I no longer have that option and the little purple symbol to click is gone. Has anyone else had this issue? I would contact support directly but honestly how do I do that. Because I keep trying to and it keeps referring me to other options other than contacting support. Thanks!

This will likely need to be turned on from the back end, so it is best to contact our Support Team. If you follow the link and click login, select a topic twice, and then scroll down to see contact options.

This is happening across all stores as far as I can tell, both of mine, all my clients stores..etc.
Was VERY handy feature that I actually used to help convince clients over to shopify, would be great to have it back

We are also requiring Auto write to be added back onto our shopify account.  I followed your instructions to go to your link for Support Team, logged in but couldn't find "topics twice". Can you help us with getting to the right source for support to put auto write back on please?

I contacted support and was told they removed the feature. I’m so disappointed

This brand-new feature was slowly being rolled out to a small percentage of merchants, so your advisor may need to be more informed about it. Please reply directly to the ticket and ask them to reenable the feature. If you provide me with your ticket number, I can also leave a note for the advisor.

Hi @Emily  I did a chat with Shopify support and they said they talked to the dedicated support team which said the feature is no longer available and not able to be re activated. Is that not correct? Because looking at the forums everyone is saying the same thing that it suddenly disappeared a few days ago.

Oh really? Weird! I was able to have it put back on and was able to use it last night.

Yes, it should be able to be re-enabled. Do you have the ticket number from your Support interaction?
