Why do all product pages result in a 404 error with a custom theme?

Hi,

 

All product pages result in 404 error in our shop.
Note that we use a custom theme.

In the example below, if we click 5-HTP CR 60 Tablets...

 we get the following:

This can be replicated by clicking the link:
https://shop.askmindi.com/products/0004840-5-htp-cr-60-tablets

However, this link works fine for the "Dawn" theme.
I would appreciate any insights on why our custom theme would interfere with the product pages.

It turns out that the product page template was not assigned to any products,
as described in here:
https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/theme-structure/templates


I would expect that the system would revert to the default theme,
but no default theme can be found for some reason.

Anyway, the solution has been to manually assign our template to the products.

When navigating to the link you shared as well as all other product pages, I was able to replicate the 404 error message. To gather a bit more context, have you recently installed any new apps or edited your theme code?

 

You mentioned that this issue happens in your custom theme, however, it does not occur in a fresh Dawn theme. This may indicate it's an issue related to your custom theme. Could you try rolling back your theme code to an older datestamp? This can help us determine when the issue took place and locate the error. When rolling back your theme code you can select an older date stamp and Preview it to see if there are any changes/if you're able to click on your product pages.

Hello @petrostopouzis 

 

As you have mentioned product page is working fine on the Dawn theme but not on the custom theme, looks like there must be an issue with your product page template in the custom theme. You can try rolling back the last few changes done on the product page template.

 

Also, have you recently installed any apps which control the product page? Sometimes apps also cause such issues.
