Why does clicking 'Buy Now' remove the automatic discount code?

Our app adds discounts for users automatically by redirecting them to `https://STOREURL/discount/CODE`.  We've used this historically without error.

We're now looking to support products that have subscription options available.  When we use the approach described above for a subscription product, and click "Add to Cart", then go to checkout - everything works as intended, the discount code is applied.

However, if we click "Buy Now" instead of "Add to Cart", the user is taken to checkout but there is no discount code applied.  The discount code can be manually added subsequently however, which makes me think this is a Shopify bug.

Is there something we're missing?  Thanks!

I'm using the Buy Now Button on two of my stores and the discount is applied automatically. So I think it's just a problem with your store, not a shopify common problem.

You can ask shopify's official customer service online to find out what the problem is.
